Via Colori
Artists from all over the world are taking to the streets of Houston this weekend… literally! Come out to Via Colori and watch 200 artists create works of art using only pastel chalk! All proceeds from the event benefit the 501(c)(3) non profit, The Center for Hearing and Speech. The entertainment stretches past the visual with a great listing of local bands, spread over two stages, including: The Literary Greats, Rocky Moon and BOLT!, Benjamin Wesley, Two Star Symphony and Andrew Karnavas! On Saturday, November 19th, at 4:30 at the Reliant Stage, you can catch local artist Natalie Irish complete a painting using only her lips! It’s an amazing site to see!
Feeling a bit adventurous? Join the Via Colori Art Scene from 4-6pm on Sunday, November 20th! For $20, you can experience the festival through a scavenger hunt that will lead you to various artist’s squares and all around the fest. Famished from all that hunting? Sponsors Carabbas and Saint Arnold Brewery have you covered. And Roky Moon and BOLT! will be happy to entertain you.
All weekend long the festival will be full of family friendly activities including The Children’s Museum Craft Corner, the Houston Museum of Natural Science Discovery Zone, the PriceWaterCoopers Sand Blast Art area, flash mobs (twice daily!), games and prizes from Radio Disney AM 1590, and the Spindletop Charities Via Bambini area where for a small donation, your child can create his or her own chalk masterpiece in a 2×2 square!
