#TuesdayTease: Vinyl Night
I’ve been a fan of Vinyl Night since it started up and I think it’s one of the greatest events in our city. Essentially, A curated list of folks around Houston each play one Wednesday night from 7-10pm at Phoenicia’s downtown MKT Bar. People like Kam Franklin of The Suffers, Chris Gray of Houston Press, Katie Rentfro of Magnolia Red and Daniel Jackon of ListenYoungman, to name a few, have been selected to play in the past.
Every month, I see a list of some of the most talented and creative people in our city. I’m honored to be included and can’t wait to share my favorite tunes with you all on August 27th. Come out and support your girl! Big thanks to Phoenicia MKT Bar and Cactus Music for trusting me! 😉 You know I’ll be playing great selections from Indie, Reggae, Soul and Folk bands–with as much local love as I can give. If you are a local band and have a vinyl record out, let me know! Comment below and I’ll be in touch.
Playlist ideas so far:
Folk Family Revival
Tove Lo
Steel Pulse
Dam-Funk
Mayer Hawthorne
Black Joe Lewis
The Suffers
Robert Ellis
The Tontons
Broods
…and that’s all I can share right now! Stay tuned and come out on August 27th to Phoenicia’s downtown MKT Bar from 7-10pm. There will be drink specials and of course, no cover.
Since there’s not a video out there (yet) of me DJing, I’ll just leave this here for you:
What’s a #TuesdayTease? Every Tuesday, I post a video from a band that will be coming to a stage near you soon. If you’re here, you love live music. So, let’s get pumped together for all the fantastic shows that happen around Houston, from local musicians to touring musicians.
