The first time I saw Tribal Seeds live, I just happened to be visiting the Wailers while they were on tour in Arizona. It was a great show–Tribal Seeds opened up, the Wailers next and Steel Pulse closed it out. The outdoor concert was held against the background of mountains and sky and hosted by a local Native American Indian Tribe. I talked with a few of the musicians and fans–everyone was in great spirits, as I’m sure they will be this weekend.

The first time I saw Ballyhoo! was earlier this summer, playing downstairs at Fitzgerald’s. They definitley have their own spin on reggae. It’s a balance of the reggae beat with a rock feel. And they definitely have a following. Downstairs shows can be a bit of a toss up–never sure how thick the crowd will be. They had fans packed in to Fitzgerald’s and I’m sure this Sunday will only be bigger.

Bands like Tribal Seeds and Ballyhoo! have taken traditional reggae and branched off to make it their own. Whether it’s a California vibe or a rock vibe, it’s uniquely theirs.

You can catch Tribal Seeds with opening bands Ballyhoo! and Gonzo with Beyond I Sight at the Warehouse Live on Sunday, November 16.

What’s a #TuesdayTease? Every Tuesday, I post a video from a band that will be coming to a stage near you soon. If you’re here, you love live music. So, let’s get pumped together for all the fantastic shows that happen around Houston, from local musicians to touring musicians.
