Los Amigos Invisibles is headed to Houston on October 20th to play at Numbers. This high energy Venezuelan band plays song after song, with barely a breath in between. Their set drips with sexy, funk driven rhythms that make it impossible not to dance to. They have been together for 20 years with the same band members, though 2 recently left to pursue acting and DJing careers respectively. They broke into the US market when David Byrne of the Talking Heads discovered one of their albums by chance in a Manhattan record shop. Without hesitation, he called them up and signed them to his label: Luaka Bop. The began touring and in 2001, they moved to New York City from Caracas. Quickly becoming a part of the vibrant music scene in NYC, they began working with Louie Vega (Masters At Work), Dimitri From Paris, Natalia Lafourcade, Cachorro López and Jorge Gonzalez, among others. In the last few years, they have established their own record label – Gozadera Records – and have tightened their hooks and focused their songs, recording their most accessible work yet.

I’ve seen Los Amigos a few times in Houston and Austin and they NEVER disappoint. Put this event on your calendar PRONTO and buy tickets before they’re gone!
