Need some new music in your life? Start visiting my page on Fridays for #FridayFinds. I’ll post new albums from artists we all love, or new artists that maybe we don’t know yet. Kicking off the first installment is a 12 piece band that has played many a festival including ACL, Bonaroo, Sasquatch, and Lollapalooza: Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros.

I highly recommend the latest album from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. Their self-titled album released only 3 days ago and they played Letterman just the other night. Watch them live on the Late Show with David Letterman and get to know them a little better from an interview with KEXP in Seattle below. (You’re welcome.)

Fun Fact: Did you know that Edward Sharpe isn’t a real person? Nope. He’s a character dreamed up by frontman Alex Ebert. This messianic figure was “sent down to Earth to kinda heal and save mankind, but he kept getting distracted by girls and falling in love.”[1] Sounds about right. Oh, and navigating their website is like playing an instrument. Seriously.

Connect with the band on the web, twitter, soundcloud and facebook
