There are a couple shows this Friday that may make you think twice about which one to chose! Fiona Apple is playing at the Bayou Music Center in Downtown. And the MFA is hosting its third party in the Mixed Media Series, with headliner Drop the Lime.

Fiona was arrested as she crossed the border to Texas. So much for a warm Texas welcome. But, fans are hopeful that she will be still perform at tomorrow night’s show and they will surely give her the welcome she deserves. Fiona is truly a self-aware poet. Listen to any song closely and you will hear layers of pain, experience, love, confidence and darkness. Then, add in her gif t for the piano and her orchestra, and you have a woman that cannot be ignored. Tickets are still available online for this seated 8:30 performance at the Bayou Music Center (next to Hard Rock Cafe in Downtown).

For a little more fast paced Friday night, head to the Museum of Fine Arts for a night of bumpin music, fabulous art and drinks. Hosted in the Caroline Wiess Law Building and sponsored by IKEA, you can be guaranteed lots of comfy furniture to rest after dancing it out on the dance floor to the line up of DJs including Houston locals, Ceeplus Bad Knives, Damon Allen (Haters Make Us Famous) and Reverberation DJs. And of course, the headliner, Drop the Lime, from Brooklyn. The first 100 into the building receive party favors from IKEA, so get there early!
