Interview: Holy Wave

Originally formed in El Paso, Texas, Holy Wave carefully combines fluid forms of sacred surf sounds, droning riffs, and group vocals that haunt and harmonize in equal measure. Some time ago, the band moved to Austin and are releasing their 3rd studio LP, Freaks of Nature, today.
They were kind enough to send me an advance copy and I loved every moment of it. I got a chance to catch up with the band and ask them a few questions about their musical influences and what they miss most about El Paso. Read through their answers and pick up a copy of the album today.

LI: If you could change one thing about your path as a musician, what would it be? Or would you?
HW: Perhaps we would’ve liked to have begun playing more seriously at an earlier age, but all in all, we’re pretty happy with how things are going.
HW: They all tight.
LI: What’s do you miss most about El Paso?
HW: Mexican food, Mexican girls, family, friends, mountains, creosote, Redcats USA, childhood, Steakpedos.
LI: What do you love most about Austin?
HW: Hotel Vegas
LI: If you could collaborate with a musician who has passed away, who would it be?
HW: Trish Keenan
